Refurbishment works are currently taking place at New Inn Bridge, also known as the Dipping Bridge.
Works include repair to scour damage, the reconstruction of an adjacent training wall, and masonry repairs. For works to take place, the level of the river has been reduced and submerged objects like rocks may not be visible.
With the current warm weather and school holidays approaching we would like to remind residents/visitors that:
- Swimming and jumping off the bridge is dangerous due to shallow water levels.
- Signage and fencing is in place for safety reasons and should not be ignored.
- Submerged objects like rocks may not be visible.
- Jumping off the bridge can be dangerous and cause serious injury.
Please visit Bridgend Council’s website for more information about how to stay safe this summer.
