Schools nasal flu vaccination programme underway
From this week all children in local schools, from reception class up to and including school year 11, will be offered a free nasal spray flu vaccine to help protect them from flu.
This will be undertaken by the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board School Nursing team.
A consent form must be completed by a parent or carer before a vaccination is given, although some children in secondary school will be able to legally consent for themselves. This may include some children who are under 16, but only if they are assessed as having the understanding needed to do so by a school nurse or immuniser.
The nasal flu vaccinations will run for a period of 12 weeks up to 13 December 2024.
Ospreys to play two matches at the Brewery Field
The Ospreys will be playing two matches at Bridgend’s Dunraven Brewery Field this autumn, including their opening home match of the new season against the South African side Stormers.
Last year, the Brewery Field successfully hosted matches including the Welsh derby against Cardiff Rugby and a European knockout match against Sale Sharks.
The clash against the Stormers will take place on September 28, before the visit of Edinburgh on Saturday October 26.
The change of venue is due to a fixture clash with Swansea City FC with both teams currently playing at the Swansea.com stadium.
Visit the Ospreys website for more information.
