Brand new Cefn U14’s football team wins opening matches

Congratulations to Cefn Cribwr Football Club’s brand new U14’s team, who have kicked off their league campaign with two convincing wins at Cefn’s Jewson Stadium at Cae Gof, the first match the young riders won 3-0 against Margam Youth Centre and in the second league encounter the team again secured another impressive victory of 4-1 against Aberkenfig Boys and Girls Club Red team.

The club are very grateful to PD & Son for sponsoring the brand-new Macron kit for the young riders.

The new U14’s team is the latest addition to the club’s rapidly growing junior and mini sections joining Cefn cubs U6, U8s,U9s and U11 teams. To continue the successful growth the club are continuing to recruit new players and is also looking for more volunteers to help. Join a free history walk and talk about Cefn’s industrial heritage 

Join a free ‘History Walk and Talk’ led by Cefn Gwyrdd about the rich and fascinating industrial heritage of the Waun and Cwsc, on Saturday 21st September. In partnership with CADW Open Doors the walk starts at Bedford Park Nature Reserve car park at 2.00pm and finishes at the Cefn Junction Signal Box.

This is another event in the inaugural Ogwr History Month, organised by the Ogwr Heritage Network, a partnership of local history societies and heritage sites including Cefn Gwyrdd.
