A taste of Spain arrives in Bridgend

Bridgend’s burgeoning reputation as a destination town for a rich, culinary experience was further enhanced last month when brand new Spanish restaurant, Gin & Sangria, opened its doors for the first time.

The new venture is housed within the exquisite Cae Court Hotel, a newly refurbished and re-opened boutique hotel on the banks of the River Ogwr and in the shadow of St. Mary’s Church.

Gin & Sangria, monikered as ‘The House of Paella’, is a sister restaurant to Gin & Sake, which opened last year and has already established itself as a firm favourite throughout the town with its authentic Japanese dishes and cocktails.

From hearty, traditional favourites to more modern, innovative dishes perfect for summer, Gin & Sangria promises to take you on a journey through Spain, with music and singers also lined up to enhance your experience.

The re-opened hotel also has a new Sangria lounge, which is open all day and where its Spanish breakfast is the prime feature, adjacent to a stunning, riverside terrace to enjoy its cocktails, coffee, cake and Montaditos in the sun.

Co-owner, Steve Clarke, said “We are so excited to open our doors at Cae Court and its restaurant, Gin & Sangria. Ever since we opened Gin & Sake last year, we’ve been overwhelmed by the support of the local community.

“We hope this new venture can not only offer the people of Bridgend more great hospitality options, but play a part in helping the town grow and develop into a thriving and exciting place to visit.”

Reservations for food can be made at Gin & Sangria’s website, whilst hotel room enquiries and more general information is available through Cae Court.

The new hotel and restaurant is a short walk from Bridgend Station in the centre of town and also offers limited parking.
