Last Friday, we were delighted to revisit Proud Mary in Swansea as the venue launched it’s all new menu – and what a pleasurable visit it was.
Last time we visited, the venue had just opened, whereas now it seems to have a regular crowd of fun, friendly regulars, and had maintained the fabulous music and warm welcome we enjoyed so much on our last visit.
The service was well above anything you can expect in your average ‘club’, with bar staff going above and beyond to ensure diners were very well looked after while maintaining the fun atmosphere with pub guests – in fact, we liked it so much we are heading back there this week to take advantage of their “Burger and a Drink for £10” promotion, which is available every day before 8pm.
We tried a number of dishes between us, a large margarita pizza (which was really large, I took some home with me!), the chilli (which was fantastic!), the Honey Roasted Sausages (you NEED these in your life!) and the chicken tenders – all of which we really enjoyed. This is good honest pub food,, cooked well, served beautifully and, I’d argue, much better than many other venues who try to pull off everything and wind up falling short. This place really does keep everyone happy – and everyone in there is smiling.
The pricing is very reasonable too and frankly, if I lived in Swansea I would probably eat there every day, with additional events like pub quiz, karaoke, Wings Wednesday and Music Bingo it offers all the fun of your local in the heart of the city centre with great 80s music… what’s not to love?
It’s so hard to get the balance right between pub, club, restaurant and entertainment venue, and few do it well. Proud Mary Swansea excels at it.
Obviously, we’ll be back.
We just hope they don’t get fed up of us!
