Blaengarw Workmen’s Hall reached the ripe old age of 130 earlier this week.
The Hall is testament to the forward-thinking and resourcefulness of the men who worked at the local coal mines.
The venue first opened in March 1894 and offers a 250 capacity auditorium with a stage, bar and various general-purpose rooms and offices, which are well used by local group and organisations.
The occasion was marked with a community tea dance earlier this week.
