Pyle & Kenfig Hill Veteran’s Association to celebrate first anniversary with party

Pyle & Kenfig Hill Veteran’s Association is to celebrate its first anniversary with a special party at its base, Pyle Legion on Saturday 27th January.

Featuring popular local band the 2Eds and a bumper raffle, doors will open at 7.00pm and tickets are available from Pyle Legion.

Pyle & Kenfig Hill Veteran’s Association was successfully set up just a year ago and is led by local veterans of the armed forces. With a growing and very active membership it runs a hub every Saturday morning at Pyle Legion that welcomes all local veterans and their families for a bacon butty and a brew.

 

New weekly warm hub opened and free warm packs available at KPC

A new free weekly warm hub has started at KPC in Pyle from 3.00pm to 7.00pm every Wednesday. You can pop in for just a chat or to get a free hot drink.

KPC are also distributing free warm packs to those who are struggling to keep warm this winter. These will be available on a Wednesday afternoon at the warm hub. You can also call in to the centre anytime between 9.00am and 2.00pm, Monday to Friday to collect a pack. The packs include thermal hats, gloves, socks and scarves. Also available are covered hot water bottles, insulated travel mugs and fleece blankets, all free of charge.

Charity concert for Cost of Cancer at Pisgah Chapel

Local children’s and youth choirs Da Capo & Crescendo will be joining Bridgend Male Choir for their first concert of the year at Pisgah Chapel in Kenfig Hill on Friday, 19th January at 7.00pm.

You can get your ticket now and you will be treated to a feast of music from choristers aged 8 to 80!

The concert is to raise funds for the ‘Cost of Cancer’ https://www.costofcancer.org.uk a charity that helps people who are finding life financially difficult whilst going through treatment for cancer.
