Business leaders in Swansea are already looking forward to the event, which has been welcomed by the region’s thriving business community.
Bernie Davies, Expo Co-Organiser and Director of Introbiz Swansea and West Wales said:
“The exhibition and awards dinner represents a great opportunity for established local businesses to grow in influence – and the 20 stands available free of charge to start-ups, and the chance to pitch for £2k of funding is exactly what start-ups need to get themselves on the map.”
“This event is a fantastic opportunity for Swansea and West Wales businesses to highlight our dynamic, forward-thinking region and I’d like to thank our business minded council and local business and community leaders for again supporting and nurturing business growth.”
Graham Hirst, MD of Ministry of Furniture added:
“I am absolutely delighted to be both Headline Sponsor and Speaker at this inaugural event – it is so important to support both business growth and business creation because every successful brand was once a start up. It’s fantastic that we are offering local start-ups an opportunity to pitch for funding as well as to market their business at the expo.”
Graham added, “Hopefully some of those businesses we see in the start-up section will be delivering speeches and sponsorship at future events. It is this continuity that makes networking and marketing so important for business growth and it is with this spirit that we are proud to be involved.”
Cllr. Rob Stewart, Leader of Swansea City Council concluded:
“ A recent Ted talk event was viewed by thousands of people across the world and Swansea is already on the global map as a place to do business. The expo is a logical next step.”
Cllr. Stewart added, “The Swansea and West Wales business community is boosted by a vibrant, can-do culture and we want to support and encourage businesses to start-up, relocate and grow here. We offer a supportive local authority, a thriving business community and leadership expertise that rivals any other UK region, with an excellent university that ensures a solid pipeline for future talent. I’m proud to be collaborating on our City’s first expo and am certain it will not be the last.”
