Residents of Bridgend County Borough aged between 35 and 39 have become the latest who can apply to receive reserve vaccinations at short notice.
The offer, which is available to people who can attend a Covid-19 vaccination appointment within an hour’s notiification, has been set up to ensure that vaccinations do not go to waste due to no-shows and cancelations elswhere in the system.
A form has been made available at the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board website which people can fill in to be added to a reserve list.
The move will not affect vaccines for residents in priority groups one to nine, with the health board confident that everyone in these groups will have been offered at least one dose of the vaccine by the end of the week.
Letters for all people within groups one to nine have been sent out and should be arriving soon.
To date, more than 89,000 residents have received a vaccination within Bridgend County Borough.
