Bryncethin Pub Customers warned of potential exposure to Covid-19

Cwm Taf Morgannwg’s Test, Trace and Protect Service is contacting people who visited the Masons Arms in Bryncethin on 26 June 2021 following positive coronavirus tests for several people who were at the premises that day.

If you have been identified as a contact, the Test, Trace and Protect team will be in touch shortly to provide you with further advice and guidance.

Anyone who visited the premises on 26 June and who is either already showing or developing symptoms such as a high temperature, persistent cough or change in their sense of taste or smell should avoid visiting a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital.

Instead, self-isolate immediately along with any other members of the household, and book a test online at https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test or by calling 119.

If you require medical advice, telephone your GP and let them know that that you have recently visited a premises at the same time as someone who has since tested positive for Covid-19.

If you were not at the premises on this day but feel generally unwell, you can also request a test to check that you do not have coronavirus.

Cllr Dhanisha Patel, Cabinet Member for Wellbeing and Future Generations, said: “While officers from the Shared Regulatory Service have confirmed that the business has coronavirus measures in place, it appears that one or more people who were at the premises that day have since tested positive for Covid-19.

“Procedures are in place to support anyone who tests positive as a result of coming into contact, and you can find out more by visiting the coronavirus advice page at the Welsh Government website.”
